I really enjoyed reading this book on vacation. I absolutely flew through it, because it is so fast-paced you don't want to put it down. There are a few things I found annoying about the main character, but I like that she is both strong and flawed at the same time. It's more realistic! The author apparently helps victims of trauma, and it shows that that experience informs her character development. Also, banter is witty, and the language used (AKA f-bombs) is pretty on par with mine. ;) This book isn't going to change your life, but as a suspenseful action novel (with a little love story thrown in), I give it 5 stars. I got onto Amazon looking for the next installment and was very sad to find it hasn't been published yet. Can't wait!

Solitary was a sit on the edge of your seat, biting your nails kinda book. Wow! I loved it! Now, I can't wait to get my greedy little hands on Affinity so I can find out what happens next.

Out of all the boys in the world to fall in love with, Paige had to fall for an arms dealer. Of course, she didn't know this until the night David shoots her and walks away. Never looking back. Leaving her for dead. Several years pass by and somehow David continues to torment her. By killing everyone she loves or comes in contact with. Paige knows very well, she could be his next victim. Until, a stranger who surmises she's on the run, promises to keep her safe. Should she put her life in Noah's hands? And should she trust his band of merry fools?

Copeland did a fantastic job of creating strong, believable characters who had you flipping the pages. Each and everyone unique in their own right. I'd love to read a spin off about Sean, Andrew, Kai or Hannah.
Paige has been on the run from her crazy arms dealer ex-boyfriend for the past nine years when she meets Noah, who claims he knows nothing about her situation but seems strangely intent on helping her out of it. After her family and friends have all been killed on the orders of the ex, Paige is understandably reluctant to trust or get close to anyone. Her life has come down to one thing, and that's taking care of herself. All her instincts warn her away from Noah, and maybe with good reason, but still she's drawn to him and the possibility of finally being able to stop running.

The book is in Paige's POV and gives you a clear idea of her personality and thought process. She's full of defensiveness and distrust, which feels natural after the way she's had to live. She's also scrappy, sarcastic, and never stops fighting. I thought the author did a fantastic job in making Paige a well-rounded and relatable character (especially given that most readers probably can't relate to her exact circumstances). The story as a whole flows really well, it's fast-paced and full of fun, snappy dialogue (a favorite of mine). While of course I enjoyed the banter between Paige and Noah, I loved the antagonistic back and forth between Paige and Andrew, Noah's partner who doesn't want anything to do with her. Andrew was an interesting character, dark, sometimes cruel, yet very layered and strangely likable. Also loved Sean. Actually, there weren't really any characters I didn't love.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a fast paced and clever action/suspense novel. It does end on a cliffhanger but if you enjoy the colorful world the author has created, you'll be excited to read the continuation.

Incredible book. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next. Great strong female character that has tons of great action. Definitely recommend (unless you have trouble with strong language)!
My favorite part of this book was the dialogue. There's a heavy amount of sarcasm and banter that borders on verbal sparring between several intelligent characters with distinctive personalities. The book has both action and romantic themes that pop up repeatedly as you get to learn about the protagonist and her relationships with the other characters. I'm looking forward to the next installment to watch the story continue to unfold.
