Atypical storyline. Interesting story that read in one sitting. At no time was I bored. Likable hero and heroine. Satisfactory ending. Needless to say that I liked this book. Actually I love it.

For me no matter how good a story is if I do not like the hero then i cannot love the book. It is just the way I am. Here that was not an issue because I loved Ben. Loving, faithful, protective, passionate and romantic he was the ideal hero. He was also Evie's rock. She could always count on him and he helped keep her sane. Evie was likable too and I had no complaints about her. She accepted what happened to her and tried to make the best of a difficult situation. Ben was her everything and she loved him as deeply as he loved her.

I read around two hundred romance books a year and have for years. I can count on one hand the number of books where the hero and heroine are close friend as children, their relationship develops into romantic love when they are older, give each other the gift of their virginity and both never have sex with anyone else. Here they gave their virginity to each other as teenagers and kept true to each other. I know that it is very uncommon in real life but I do not care. This is romance land and not reality and it was one if many things that I loved about this book.

Everything cannot be perfect in a story for it to keep my interest and most readers probably feel the same way. The hero and heroine must face adversity or have a conflict that is resolved. Here they did which included facing separations that were beyond their control. I am not overly emotional but found myself tearing up on several occasions and feeling frustrated and worried right alone with them. In fact I was concerned that I would not like the ending. I want a HEA ending or at least a HFN one and could see this story ending in a way I would not like. While I would have preferred a different ending, I was ok with it.

Man, where do I find my Ben?! The best part of this story is watching Ben and Evie fall in love. It's slow paced but it works since we meet them as children. It was actually really hard to see Evie trying to figure out what was happening and to realize that Ben was hurting just as much. The one thing that would have made this 5 stars is a more firm resolution as to what was actually happening, why it happened, and Evie's "first family". Those questions have been burning holes in my head the whole book but the fact that this love story was so pure made up for the fact that I still have lots of questions I'll never
Know the answers to.
This is a story that I find myself at a loss for the right words to explain how I loved it. This love story is epic and magical.

Every four years on leap year Evie wakes up in a new life, a new setting, and a new family. She awakes with an emptiness that grows with each new life, because her heart knows that something is missing. Someone has owned her heart since she was four, and she owns his heart too. With each new life she loses her love and must find him. Ben Foster has loved her since he was five, and he always waits for her to find him.

Evie and Ben's love was so consuming and beautiful, yet so tragic as they are torn apart over and over again. But it does have a happy ending, so don't let me discourage you by bringing up the word tragic. Because I also said is was magical, and it really really is. I love this book! Go read it.
Evie switches lives every leap year on her birthday. She never knows it happened until she meets her one constant, Ben, again. Sometimes she gets him for years, sometimes just minutes, but when she finds him, it is electric. This is a very fast read, just two hours for me. It was a very compelling storyline with a lot of suspense and emotion. The "F" word is a frequent fallback in the character dialogue, and there are some pretty intense sex scenes, so it is not recommended for a young reader. I enjoyed the book, but the dialogue was repetitive. I still had questions, and I found it hard to believe that there was never a time when Evie or Ben didn't do a little research -- I know most people would have, especially facing the circumstances she found herself flung into between ages sixteen and twenty. I recommend this to someone who likes a little bitter with their sweet romances.

What a story to tell!! This is a difficult story line to make work, however Natalie Ward did. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I really wanted to connect with the book, but when the kids reached early teens, I thought the solution was pretty obvious and it took them much, much longer to realize it.

Evie does exactly like the blurb says, she disappears every four years. She is just gone. New house, new family new life. She takes a few minutes to gather her wits and then goes on with living. She doesn't remember anything from the past right away, until she hears his name. Ben Foster.

Ben is the only constant in Evie's crazy life. It may take a day, month or a year, but somehow his girl comes back to him. Ben has protected Evie since she was four years old and isn't stopping now.

I would call this an epic love story as is spans years and years of life for Evie and Ben. They grow up dealing the best that they can with her odd situation. Each time it gets more difficult to find him, but somehow she does. This is where the solution I mentioned above would have come in handy. However we were waiting years for them to figure it out which made the book drag a bit for me.

Evie and Ben live and love then get ripped apart, never knowing when they will reconnect. I liked that Ben was man enough to wait for Evie every single time. Sure there were some rough patches, but they still made it back to each other. That's what kept me reading, wanting to see how this was going to turn out for the doomed couple. With the way they were going I wanted to see if they were going to try and get married and have kids. If so, how it was going to work in this crazy situation.

It is very well written and such a different love story, I'm glad to have read it.
